The really, really overdue update

Hey all,

So this is a major update. I haven't touched this because I have been busy with things, but here is what I have done over the last two weeks.

1. Movie. National Treasure 2. A new adventure for a new treasure. This time Robert Gates is going after the golden city of the American Indians, while clearing the family name after the Gates name is tied to John Wilkes Booth, the assassin of Abraham Lincoln. Friendships are strained, some are renewed, and they find the great treasure of the past.

2. Movie. Transformers 2: revenge of the fallen. OK, i'll try to be brief about this. The Autobots, now working with a special government group called N.E.S.T., hunt Decepticons across the planet. Meanwhile Sam, the hero from the past movie wants to move on and head to college, leaving his past behind and become a regular guy. However, things don't work out the way it is planned, and he and Mikaela get thrown in a race against the clock to stop the destruction of earth. That's the best I could describe it. Dammit Michael Bay!

3. Food. Cinnamon Pretzel. It's a pretzel, baked from bread for a cinnamon bun. Delicious.

4. Conversation with Stranger. Talking with this guy about the new Transformers movie coming out. A very cool person, who was a little bit obsessed with the movie, as he told me he followed it since last year.

5. Beer. Killians. Great and tasty red beer. Tastes even better out of the keg.

6. Beer. Bud Lite Lime. It's like bud lite, only with lime. SO, lime flavored water.

7. Beer. New York Hometown. Beer that has a brownish color. Tastes smooth, has caramel hint to it.

8. Event. Erik's graduation party. Went to my friend's party in New Jersey. I haven't seen him in about four years, so to get a chance to hang out again was well worth it.

9. Movie. National Treasure. This movie introduces Robert Gates, who goes on a treasure hunt over a symbol in the Declaration of Independence. As he goes on his quest to find it, he finds the girl, Abigail, and beats rival hunters for the prize, the original prize of the Freemasons.

10. Food. Buffalo Burger. It's my first time having Buffalo meat, and it is well worth it. I found it to be tender, but it was a bit gamey.

11. Date. First date! Well, it was a fiasco. It barely qualifies as one, but hey, it works. The girl, Jackie, was a girl I knew years ago, and I bumped into her when she came into my job. We got talking and I agreed to do something with her. This "something" was a bible study. Granted, it is not something I would normally do, but decided for it anyway. Bottom line; it was something I plan on not doing again. This is definitely regarding people who are too literal.

Now, I do not mind religion. I am a practicing Catholic and everyone has their own personal faith and what they believe in. But when they read something and believe it to be the honest truth, well....there's a problem.

12. Different girl. Jacquelyn Zierau.

13. Event. BBQ of Mike Digioia. It was a 4th of July BBQ. The first of two. Blondie was there, and I conversed with a few people.

14. Outdoor Activity. Fireworks. Came home and shot off fireworks on the fourth with my little brother. It was well worth it.

15. Event. Chelsea's 4th of July party. Another party, this time at Chelsea's house.

16. Movie. Big Trouble in Little China. Kurt Russell plays Jack Burton, a truck driver who gets roped into conflict in San Francisco's Chinatown. A ghost, Lo-pan, needs the life-force of a green-eyed women to regain mortality and retake the universe. He ends up kidnapping not one, but two green-eyed women. It's up Jack, his best friend, and a couple other interesting characters to save the day and the girls.

17. Outdoor Activity. Beach. Topher, Mu, and myself went to Robert Moses. Beautiful day for the beach, and as we were leaving, the clouds rolled in.

18. Conversation with a Stranger. I spoke to a man for a little bit while sitting on a bench. The man, an elderly gentleman and I spoke about the greatness of redheaded women. Needless to say, it was an interesting conversation with a man who had fifty years on me.

19. Event. Concert. Joe Kahl, Steve Fucalaro, my brother Mike, and myself saw Cheap Trick, Poison, and Def Leppard at Jones Beach. Great show, both Poison and Def Leppard really know how to perform.

20. Date. Blind Double Date. I had the second date lined up. This was with my friend AnnMarie's cousin, Francesca. We saw the hangover, and grabbed something to eat afterward. I would say this was a great date, especially after the last one.

21. Different Girl. Francesca Crobak.

22. Food. Challah Bread French Toast. Eh, nothing to fancy. I could swear there was an egg shell I bit into.

23. Event. Chelsea's Party. Another one. This time celebrating the end of the week.

24. Beer. Rolling Rock. A cheap, but otherwise decent beer. Has a taste a little better then bud light.

I'm going to try to get back on schedule with this. Otherwise it will not get completed. Anyway, if you have any ideas for me, shoot me an answer. Until next time.

Late, but worth it

Hey all,

Sorry about the late update, I've been feeling a bit under the weather these last past days. But needless to say that didn't stop me to get things accomplished this weekend. Lets get to it.

1. Beer. Sierra Nevada. Now, most the beers I've been drinking I have enjoyed. This one I did not. Some people rave about it and its taste. I found it to be too similar to other microbrews that cannot filter their beer properly. I felt it was too hoppy.

2. Beer.Schlitz. This beer is a poor man's bud light. Cheap, at 5.49 for a twelve pack. I bought it and downed a few. It had a crisp taste and went down like water.

3. Movie. Wall-E. Disney's movie about a little robot that could. It is a metaphor for the future, in how we need to protect the planet.

4. Book. I love you Beth Cooper, by Larry Doyle. This story tells of a neurotic High School on his last day and the events that follow through with over the coming night. Because words cannot do justice for how great this book is, I'll leave an exerpt from the book:
"For all its obsessive analysis, Denis’s Biggest Brain
had neglected to consider two relevant facts. Big Brains
often have this problem: Albert Einstein was said to be
so absentminded that he once brushed his teeth with a
power drill. But even Einstein (who, according to geek
mythology, bagged Marilyn Monroe) would not have
overlooked these facts; even Einstein’s brain, pickling
in a jar at Princeton, would be able to grasp the in! nitudinous
import of these two simple facts, which now
hung over Denis’s huge head like a sword of Damocles—
or to the non- honors graduates, like a sick fart.
The two incontrovertible, insurmountable, damn
sad facts were these:
Beth Cooper was the head cheerleader;
Denis Cooverman was captain of the debate team."

5. Conversation with a stranger. I was able to start the conversation with a stranger. For her safety (and mine) I'll refer to her as Lily. Now, this was a failure from the beginning, as the girl was not the sharpest tool in the shed. Conversation began at an Applebee's with a few of her friends and mine, with her being very flirtatious. I opened up, trying to get something out of her with some type of lead on. She then raises her hand, showing her engagement ring. This was a buzzkill, but continued to talk to her. Later on I was able to find out where she was from, what she doing, and her ideas. However, things started to fail when I offered to play ultimate frisbee with her. She rejected, numerous times. A couple of her friends did not. We started tossing it around and I, being the idiot kept offering it to her to play. She kept turning me down. Things then went from bad to worst, as things progressed. In the end, we departed on LESS then friendly terms. But, I was able to find out several things about her:

Where she lived, her relationship status, has a child, does not like doing sporting activities, especially in a dress and heels, and is ultimately deprived of attention. Overall, a success.

6. Event. John's going away party. Small get-together he threw to collaborate him moving out (again).

This leads into the last entry. I completed a first!

7. Stay up 22 hours straight. I began this situation by waking up at 6 a.m. on monday. From there I went to work from 7-3:30. After driving a fellow worker home, I relaxed to about 6:30, when I had dinner. Reading a book for a bit, I went over to my John's around 11ish. Here I partied and enjoyed myself. In the last hour, from 3-4, my friends had to kick and hit me numerous times to stay away. But I did it, and stayed up till 4:15. 22 hours awake. Seems like nothing, but it really, realy is.

Anyway, those are the weekend updates. I'll catch everyone later.

An "eh" week

Hi all,

I wish I could get this list moving some more, but the weather is really a factor this past couple of weeks. It seems every time I have off work or free time it is raining. But I am trying to get things finished as best as I can. I just have to hope that the weather gets better, which means more things to get finished. So I have another update and its about a month since I started this, so lets see what I have accomplished. As I plan to get this list done by Labor Day I really need to move to get it along. So lets take a look of what I did this week.

1. Movie. Zoolander. This is the movie of an extremely dimwitted male model, Derek who loses his coveted title of male model of the year to an upcoming one, Hansel. Derek, feeling his career is over, tries to gain a focus on life, but gets brainwashed by fashion designer Mugatu to kill the Prime Minister of Malaysia. However, a reporter by the name Matilda who did an interview with Derek becomes involved and changes things...

2. Movie. Star Trek. This is the story of the origins of the main members of the U.S.S. Enterprise: Spock, Uhura, Sulu, Scotty, Chekov, McCoy, and the Great Captain Kirk. This tells of the development of how they become members together and fight off rogue Romulans from the future.

3. Video Game. Earthworm Jim. Jim, an ordinary earthworm of earth, has a strange encounter with a state of the art super suit that lands on him from the space. Find out what it does and such, he embarks on an adventure through different planets to find Princess Whats-her-name, While dodging the attacks by her sister, Queen Slug for a Butt, and her minions.

Slow week again, but hopefully it'll pick up this weekend. Until later,

Slow weekend, again

Hey all,

Sorry for the late update, had things to get done. Anyway there really was not anything important going on this weekend, but a couple of things were completed.

1. Beer- Carlsberg. Beer from Denmark. Very smooth, no aftertaste though.

2. Food. Mahi Mahi. Cooked and fell apart as I ate it.

3. Movie. The Hangover. Four guys go on a bachelor party to Vegas and cannot remember what happen the previous night. As they try to put together what occurred and find their friend/ groom, they slowly come across everything that went on, from stealing Mike Tyson's tiger to marrying a stripper.

That's it for the weekend update. Be back later!

The week at the close

Hey all,

This was a busy week. I was able to bang out a few of things on the list, so here we go.

1. Movie. Hellboy II: The Golden Army. A completely original Hellboy story. The movie begins with Prince Nuada of the Elves and the Earth ready to unleash something on the surface. Hellboy, Abe, and Liz set out and discover a war is ready to be started again. With a race against the clock, along with help from Dr. Johann Krauss, as well as the prince's sister, Nuala, they set up to to stop a crown from being reunited and reawakening a deadly force. Great movie, and well worth it for the song sung by Hellboy and Abe.

2. Movie. Land of the Lost. Will Ferrell, a scientist, invents a machine that connects demensions. His assistant, Holly Cantrell, along with Will Stanton, a survivalist, get sucked into this other land, where aspects of our world are part of it. Monuments, dinosaurs, space lizards and monkey men all inhabit this strange place. Can they make it back, or will they be stuck there forever?

3. Movie. BASEketball. Two twenty-something losers invent a sport out of desperation and it takes off, becoming a national sport within a few years. After the winner of the team Coop and Remer are on dies at a game, Coop takes control of the team. However, another owner, Baxter Cain, wants to control the league, and tries dirty approaches, resulting in Coop's team having a sweat shop make their merchandise. However, Coop is able to fix it by unionizing the shop, win the girl of his dreams, and win the Denslow Cup for the Milwaukee Beers.

4. Sport. Frisbee. Played another game of late night frisbee. This time is was a very intense game, 5 on 5, later 6 on 6. Definitely worth playing.

5. Book. Arthas: Rise of the Lich King. Christine Golden. This tale is of the rise of Arthas, the Prince of Lordaeron and Paladin of the Silver Hand, who becomes consumed with fury and vengenance to stop a plague from kiling his subjects. This quest consumes him, resulting in him killing his father, destroying the kingdom he once loved, killing his father, his mentor, and wreaking a relationship with woman of his dreams, and becoming the thing he fought against, the undead Lich King.

6. Song. Keasby Nights by Catch 22.

7. Song. Take on Me by Reel Big Fish.

8. Food. Moes- Funk Miester. Now, I can go on and on about how great Moes is. Some i'm just focusing on one thing- their Tacos. Just go get them: fresh, made to order, worth the trip!

9. Movie. Coming to America. This movie tells of an African Prince, played by Eddie Murphy, who wants to see the world and find a bride he likes, not one that is picked out for him. He heads to New York City, along with servant, to embark on this quest. He works to woo the daughter of his boss at McDowell's, and tries what he can to be with her.

10. Beer. Smithwicks. A great red ale, goes down smooth with a slight bitter aftertaste, but nothing to complain about.

11. Beer. Guinness. I had wanted to save this to last, but hey it's worthy of any position. A very dark stout, with its notable head of foam due to the nitrogen that is part of the mixture. Provides your daily requirement for bread.

Hopefully this weekend will be as productive as this week. I look forward to see what it brings. Until next time!

Another Weekend

Hi all,

So more things were accomplished in the couple of days since Friday, and I got started on a few more of the tasks at hand. Some of them I'm moving along rather quickly with, and will be able to focus on other ones soon. Others I need to spend more time on to get completed, which I hope to start up soon. So here is what got accomplished these couple of days.

1. Sport. Ultimate Frisbee. We had another midnight game of Frisbee at the Holbrook Country Club in Holbrook. While this game was short it was fast paced and high scoring. With people using just colored wristbands to distinguish between team mates, it adds to the excitement of the game.

2. Beer. Red Sky at Night. Now this is a beer! Not gonna lie, I had no clue of what type of beer it was going to be, except it is somewhat strong at 7.5%. I picked up some and put one down. The beer has a pleasant, smooth taste for something that high in alcohol content. Also, the beer has a spicy aftertaste that stays in your mouth after drinking it. Well worth it if you do not prefer the taste of hops in beer.

3. Beer. Blue Point Summer Ale. Great Beer, tastes great, goes down smooth, with a pleasant aftertaste. The taste of it is so great, it should be illegal to sell.

4. Book. Angels and Demons, by Dan Brown. This is the prequel to the Da Vinci Code, and tells of an adventure that Robert Langdon partakes in as he is brought to solve an a death. The death of a physicist/ priest starts a 24 hour time clock to disarm a bomb in Vatican City. He teams up with the priests daughter, Vittoria Vetra, and embarks on discovering what happened. But not everything is what it seems to be.

5. Song. Beatles- Helter Skelter.

6. Town/ Place of interest. Ronkonkoma, N.Y. The unfinished Huey Memorial. Ok folks, this is going to be finished in the near future. One of my buddies I was talking to about this list told me of this Huey helicopter that they erected one day over by MacArthur Airport in Ronkonkoma. There was nothing for it, no sign or description of why it is there. Only thing that is there is a Pillar holding the Helicopter up. So we took a ride to see it, and it was pretty amazing. I found out later that this is a memorial to the Huey that went down in the area a couple of years ago, killing the Pilot. So look for that in the future.

7. Good Deed. Saving the Drink. Now this is interesting case. My boss is not the friendliest person in the world, nor very trustworthy either. She has a habit of tossing out items that do not belong to her. So I came into work today and saw that some of my things had been tossed out. So I poked around the department, and could not find it anywhere. So the next step was checking the garbage. I pulled it apart, looking for my things, a drink and such. No luck at all. However, I find a bottle of soda, not even opened. I don't drink soda, only the guys I work with. I pulled it out and cleaned it off. The seal wasn't even broken. I took it and put it up away from prying eyes. Now I could of left it, because I could not find what I want, but decided that wasn't the right thing to do. It got put back up, at the risk of what could come.

So there are the updates for this weekend. I'll have pictures up of things in this update as soon as I can. Until next time,

End of the week

Hey,

So this week I got some things accomplished and helped to move the list along. So far far this week I was able to start three more of the items on the list, and hope to get more done this weekend and later.

Just one thing for the songs. With the songs they will be ones I hear randomly on Pandora with a shuffle, so its not something I personally pick.

1. Game: Mega Man 9. Lets start this off right. I picked a game that had all the hardness of those old school regular NES games. Mega Man 9 was made as a virtual download for the Wii, PS3, and XBOX 360. It took me a while, but I finished it. Story goes that Dr. Light made robots that are attacking the city, and Dr. Wily is "innocent" of any involvement in it. Mega Man therefore goes through the eight levels and beats the robot masters at the end of each one. After defeating them all it turns out Wily manipulated them to attack but telling them they would not be useful after completing their task at hand. In the end Wily gets defeated, but gets away. The robots however find new things for them to do.

2. Song: Radiohead- Go to Sleep. Off the Hail to the Thief Album.

3. Beer: Brooklyn Lager. A strong dark lager, with a great aftertaste.

4. Beer: McSorley's Ale. Irish Black Lager. Another dark beer, this one has a little of bitter taste, but goes down great nontheless.

5. Food: Taco Bell's Volcano Taco. $1.19. Aw yea! These are the greatest for a late night snack. Finally there is something at T-bell that is has some form of spiciness to it. Delicious!

So there is those updates, and I have a few more in progress this weekend. So, until next time.

Lets get the ball rolling here...

Hey all,

So this weekend was big for me and I was able to get a decent amount of things accomplished.

1. Movie: Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist. This movie tells the tale of two people, Nick and Nora, who cross paths in pursuit of a legendary band, Where's Fluffy? Over the movie they develop a close relationship with each other and the evolution from two strangers to two lovers.

2. Movie: Role Models. This movie, describes two guys, cynical Danny and free spirited Wheeler, who screw up royally. To get out of prison, they need to log 150 hours at a big brother type program, Sturdy Wings. While helping out pain in the ass Ronnie and nerdy Augie, Wheeler and Danny grow up and come to realize that they aren't the only people who are around.

3. Movie: Transformers. Ok, so I'll admit Michael Bay did a good job and didn't ruin part of my childhood. It takes the story of Optimus Prime and the Autobots facing off against Megatron and the Decepticons, who want to destroy the Earth and take over the Universe. The actors in this film are great, and the story was decently written.

4. Beer: Blue Point Toasted Lager. A great, well rounded and tasty beer, cannot go wrong with this. Tastes great in the bottle, but even better on tap!

5. Beer: Magic Hat Roxy Rollies. Their winter seasonal brew. I found it stuck in my friends fridge, because I'm the only one that drinks decent beers. Anyway, it is strong and bitter taste to it.

6. Event: Birthday Party of Jen Martone. Ask around, I was making L.I. iced teas. 'Nuff said.

This was done in a short time, so i'm gonna try to get alot accomplished this week. Also, two things.

A. I'm changing the criteria for one of the requirements. Apparently some people think it is too easy, so I'm going to change the book one. Instead of reading 22 books, I am going to read 22 different authors. This will help change up what i'm reading and show different styles, so I', going to have to resubmit the list.

B. I'm also only going to update it twice a week instead of three times a week. This will let me focus more on getting things completed instead of having a lull in the middle of the week. It will be updated Monday and Friday evenings/ nights.

I'm on to finishing another book, one to shut up a certain short person, because the other were TOO short. So i'll have that up too. Until next time.

Slow Week

Hey all,

So I only got a couple things done this week, really nothing to fancy, but enough to move it along.

1. Beer. Sam Adams Summer Ale. Great beer for the summer, has a sweet taste to it.

2. Movie. The Mummy- The Drago Emperor. O'Connell is back with his wife Eve, his brother in law Jonathan, and their son now who is grown up. They are racing against time to stop the full reserrection of a Chinese emperor who ruled the land thousands of years ago. All things considered, it was an amusing movie. While the story was over the top, it was better to watch then any of those scorpion king films.

I'll try to do a bit this weekend, see ya later!
